Infrastructural Facilities Available in the Department
The department is well oamented with all the necessary instruments needed for covering the practical portion of the curriculum. From high quality German Rotring pens, stencils to scales and graphical instruments-all are available for giving high precision to the works. The field instruments are mode technology based having both manual and digital set ups. The AWS (Automatic weather station) is a storehouse of the climatological and meteorological data and the data is open to all for research purpose.

Details of The Laboratories:
a. Geoinformatics Laboratory:
The lab is fuished with the most mode informatics system connectivity. A number of computers with multiple user interfaces are connected with centralized wifi system. Several versions of GIS like 21st Century GIS (5 Users), QGIS and MAP Window GIS are installed on all computers. High quality mapping and digitization are taught to students through hands on trainings. Workshops are arranged for students and researchers of allied subjects for spreading the RS-GIS technology among all.
b. Hydropedological Laboratory:
The soil and water testing lab has the entire set of chemicals, and equipments for soil, water sample collection and testing. The soil and water pH test, soluble compound test, moisture content measurement etc is done on regular basis. This laboratory service is open for the normal people too. Anyone can approach for a water or soil quality test, whether it be of agricultural field or the drinking water they consume.
